Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (A Guide to New Player’s Hero)

The New Player’s Hero Guide to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Getting started on the Mobile MOBA sensation

Let’s set one thing straight right at the top. MOBA stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, and that’s a solid fact. Now, any uninitiated player would be daunted to pick which character to pick in a game with a wide selection. It’s difficult in fighting games with 30 fighters and it’s exponentially more challenging in ML: BB where you literally have over a hundred heroes to choose from. We selected a good hero to start with for every role so you can safely start your journey in Mobile Legends.

Practicing with these heroes against other people will give you the chance to face a myriad of the other heroes available in the game. Let’s get right into it.

Marksman – Layla

Pretty much every MOBA and their grandmother has an Ice-type Archer in their ranks. Mobile Legends is not an exception to that trend with Miya but we choose to go with someone else for the Marksman position. Layla is an easy hero to get very early in your MLBB career and she’s a formidable marksman.

Her skill kit doesn’t have a hard CC ability but her second skill slows down enemies enough for you to mow them down. Layla is a straightforward DPS Marksman meaning you have to take care not to get too close to opponents but she also has a method to pick off distant enemies. Slow and kite enemies close to you and then fire your laser at them when they try to run away.

Assassin – Saber

If you’re more into getting into your opponent’s face, dealing massive damage, and then bailing, then perhaps Saber fits your playstyle. This cyborg’s skill kit revolves around additional damage debuff on your opponents and giving you tools to take out squishy opponents before getting out of dodge. Saber doesn’t solely rely on basic attacks to wipe out opponents, he also has a kickass execution Ultimate ability that has you going Maximum Spider on unlucky enemies.

Support – Rafaela

Support heroes come in a lot of forms and they each have their own gimmicks in their skill kit. Rafaela, in the simplest terms, is a mix of damage and healing Support hero. Her first ability is an autolocking skill that damages the three nearest enemies, casts a slow debuff, and reveals their position for a brief period. Her second skill is the crux of her worth as a Support as it regenerates HP to the most injured ally in her vicinity. Rafaela’s Ultimate helps her lane partner in dishing out damage and is also extremely useful in team fights. Overall, this winged Support hero is a good starting point for anyone wanting to try out the position.

Tank – Tigreal

What self-respecting fantasy game would be caught without a big burly man in a suit of armor? Not a lot of people willingly choose Tanks because they’d much rather be out there dealing damage. However, if you’re one of the valiant people that are willing to lock down enemy damage-dealers for your teammates, then Tigreal would be a good starter Tank hero for you. His basic skill kit is a good mix of AOE damage and a gap-closer and crowd-control combo. Tigreal’s whole deal when it comes to team fights is to wrangle up all of the enemies or peel enemy damage dealers from squishy teammates while dealing damage in the process.

Mage – Eudora

Some people don’t like Assassins or Marksmen but would be part of the damage-dealing process. If you’re more of a solo mid-lane player, then Eudora is a very lethal and easy-to-use Mage to try out. Eudora is a straightforward spellcaster with a skill kit that has you stunning and mowing down enemies with lightning attacks. Her crowd-control ability makes her perfectly capable of surviving tough one-on-one skirmishes but you’ll still have to mind your positioning during intense team fights.

Everyone and anyone will have their own input on which heroes would be best to start off with in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. However, these five beginner heroes offer good variety and skill challenges for any new player in the game. Good luck in your new adventure trying to navigate the hypercompetitive world of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
