What’s new in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2

Fortnite’s Chapter 3 Season 2 update is one of the most game-changing updates in the battle royale’s five-year history. The game has had a huge and loyal fan base since its release based on its interesting mechanic of being able to build as you go in this fun twist on the battle royale formula.

In a shocking turn of events, Fortnite is removing the player’s ability to build in the game. The evil Dr. Sloane has completely removed everyone’s ability to build on the island in Fortnite’s newest event. The gimmick of removing this core ability will fortunately only last for a few weeks or until the players find a way to defeat the mad scientist.

The move is likely the Fortnite development team’s testing of the waters to see how the community would react should the defining pillar of the game be removed. Since you won’t be able to build walls to defend yourself, the game will introduce new movement mechanics like sprinting and sliding. The players will also get a brand new recharging overshield for better survivability.

Doctor Strange from the Marvel Universe takes the spotlight in this one. The release of this one is quite timely as well with the newest Doctor Strange movie, Multiverse of Madness, hitting theaters in May.

New goodies all around

Map changes abound as well in the updated map with new vehicles. Tanks, blimps, and helicopters can be commandeered by the players in their quest for Victory Royale. The pool of weapons also sees a change with some old weapons shuffling back in alongside entirely new weapons to spice things up.

Last but definitely not on the list is Mary Jane Watson of Spiderman fame is now available in the item shop. She even comes with the Web Shredder Pickaxe for the added flair. Green Goblin is also making a comeback to the store alongside Spiderman’s love interest.
