Some of the best games are reserved for the holidays!
The holidays this year won’t involve as much socializing with friends and family as we are used to in the traditional sense because of the world’s current circumstances. Fortunately, it is still the best time for video games so heat up some eggnog, huddle by the fire, so hope you’re on Santa’s nice list and wish these games find their way into your Christmas socks.
Shin Megami Tensei V
Atlus’s Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series have been wowing audiences for the past decade. Shin Megami Tensei V puts you in the middle of an apocalyptic fight between angels and demons as a high school student. Sounds absurd we know but that’s what makes this game a blast to play. This modern JRPG allows you to take control of demons and beings of varying myths from a wide variety of international cultures while you try to save the world. SMTV is definitely worth your attention this holiday season.
Battlefield 2042
Battlefield 2042 Gameplay Trailer
Battlefield 2042 will feature huge and dynamic maps, 128 players, a futuristic arsenal of weapons, and a smorgasbord of vehicles to commandeer. Unfortunately, Battlefield 2042 will not be featuring a single player campaign unlike previous installments but this entry to the series is definitely not lacking in terms of playable game modes. You should definitely add squadding up with your buddies on the frontline of Battlefield 2042 on your list of holiday activities.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Gotta catch ‘em all over again with the remake of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. The game was originally released on the DS more than a decade ago in 2006. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl promises a nostalgic journey with more than a few upgrades. On top of the upgraded graphics with a customizable chibi trainer, the game will come with a new Grand Underground dungeon that features a slew of new mechanics and mini games. A much improved Super Contest Shows minigame is also coming with the remake where you can put on a show with your Pokemon! It’s more than a shiny new coat for this remake and it’s a perfect game for kids and older gamers alike!
Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp
Advance War 1+2 Re-Boot Camp Trailer
Advance Wars was an instant classic since it was first released on the Game Boy Advance in 2001. The cartoony turn-based war strategy game featured a lot of over-the-top characters and a fun story. The deep and enjoyable mechanics of the strategy in the game was what really set it apart from other games in the era. Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is a true remaster of the game with better sounds, animation, graphics but it has the same core foundations that made this masterpiece from Intelligence Systems stand the test of time.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker
Final Fantasy XIV is considered by many to currently be the best MMO on the market right now.
