Diablo 2 Resurrected is looking like a worthwhile ride back to Hell

After the disastrous fallout of WarCraft 3: Reforged , Blizzard looks to right the wrong with a worthy trip back to Sanctuary

Blizzard is only as good as their last remake. With Warcraft 3: Reforged being one of the worst remakes in recorded gaming history, the long-time developer have their work cut out for them for winning some of their fans back in Diablo 2: Resurrected. But previews for the long-awaited remaster have been encouraging.

Blast From The Past

The foundation of Diablo 2 holds strong more than 20 years after its release. The isometric action RPG looter is still a formula used in modern games. Like fine wine, Diablo 2 has aged nicely through the years and is still a reminder of a genre of games generations ago. Vanquish demons across seven different classes and to your sadistic heart’s content

New Bloody Sheen

The graphics part of the game is definitely considered archaic in 2021. So Blizzard did overhaul most of the graphics right on top of the original one from 2000. The game can even be played in two different graphical modes: Legacy and Modern. The Legacy mode shows you exactly how it looked 21 years ago – pixel and all. For those looking for the extra nostalgia, this mode might be worth their interest. But if you’re all about the updated shadows, lighting, and HD graphics you’ll definitely go for Modern graphical mode. On top of that they did remake all 27 minutes of the original’s cinematics.

The Screams Of Your Enemies – In HD

The sound of this remake has been reinvigorated to Dolby 7.1 surround sound this time around as well. Every sound from the hack of your sword and the decapitation of your enemies are much clearer and vibrant this time around.

With no release date in sight for Diablo 4, Diablo 2 Resurrected should be able to satiate your bloodlust for demon blood till then. You won’t have to wait long since Diablo 2: Resurrected will be available worldwide on September 23, 2021. You can purchase the game on the Blizzard store or on the Blizzard app with top-ups from Wallet Codes!
