By Don Vicente Here’s everything you need to know about Sumeru and Dendro in Genshin Impact 3.0 update. Genshin Impact’s 7th and final element is finally coming to the game in the next 3.0 update. The Dendro element or the power of nature appeared slightly in the earlier years of Genshin Impact with the Dendo Samachurl and the Dendro Slime. The only elemental reaction of the time was with Pyro and it applied Burning on enemies and caused them to take damage over time.
With the preview video of Sumeru, the land of the Dendro Archon, Genshin Impact players are already excited to explore the sun-kissed lands inspired by the Middle East and South Asia. From wide deserts to verdant forests, there is a wide variety of biomes to explore your favorite Genshin Impact characters with. Players will also need to master the new platforming mechanics involving Dendro if they hope to completely explore the lands of Sumeru.

With Sumeru, the elemental reactions of Dendro will finally be unlocked so you can mix and match your mastery of the elements anew. In addition to the Burning elemental reaction, Dendro will have two additional elemental reactions with Bloom and Catalyze. Bloom is the combination of Hydro with Dendro. Bloom creates a seed-like object around the area that will explode upon contact with a third element. While Catalyze is the combination of Dendro with Electro. With Electro not having any amplifying effect like Vaporize or Melt, it can be assumed Catalyze is the amplifying reaction for Dendro and Electro. From the visuals seen in the recent trailer, Catalyze looks to have a simple animation like Vaporize or Melt. Dendro currently does not have an effect with Cryo and it is yet to be confirmed if it will have a reaction with Geo or Anemo.
A wide cast of characters is expected to come in the Sumeru patch including Lesser Lord Kusanali, the Dendro Archon, and Cyno who was featured in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview of Genshin Impact. The first three Sumeru characters we’ll be getting are Collei and Tighnari, a couple of Avidya Forest Rangers, and a merchant of Sumeru named Dori. Collie, Tighnari, and the Traveler are officially the first Dendro character we’ll be able to play in 3.0.
