By Don Vicente The highly anticipated Genshin Impact 3.0 update is finally bringing the lands of Sumeru and the power of the Dendro element to Genshin Impact very, very soon. Apart from Sumeru and Dendro, here’s everything you need to know about Genshin Impact’s latest update!
Genshin Impact 3.0 Update: New Characters!
The first banners in the 3.0 update will feature a new 5-star Dendro archer, Tighari, and 4-star Dendro character, Collei, who is also a bow wielder like her master, Tighari. Zhongli, the beloved Geo Archon, will also see a rerun banner alongside Tighari during the first three weeks of the patch. Players will be happy to know that Dendro characters can be obtained very quickly upon arriving in Sumeru. An event during the 3.0 patch will also reward players with a free Collei! The Traveler will also be able to resonate with the Dendro element upon interacting with an Archon Statue.
The second banners to end the 3.0 update will feature Dori, a 4-star Electro character. Dori is a Claymore character who will be able to heal allies and easily apply Electro on enemies while off the field. Fan favorite characters Ganyu and Kokomi will also see a rerun during the 2nd second of 3.0.
There are many more exciting characters to come to Genshin Impact which include the beautiful dancer Nillou and the supposed Dendro Archon, Lesser Lord Kusanali. The Sumeru arc hasn’t even started but we’re already more than excited.
The Power of Nature
With Sumeru, the elemental reactions of Dendro will finally be unlocked so you can mix and match your mastery of the elements anew. In addition to the Burning elemental reaction, Dendro will have two additional elemental reactions with Bloom and Catalyze. Bloom is the combination of Hydro with Dendro. Bloom creates a seed-like object around the area that will explode upon contact with a third element. While Catalyze is the combination of Dendro with Electro. With Electro not having any amplifying effect like Vaporize or Melt, it can be assumed Catalyze is the amplifying reaction for Dendro and Electro. From the visuals seen in the recent trailer, Catalyze looks to have a simple animation like Vaporize or Melt. Dendro currently does not have an effect with Cryo and it is yet to be confirmed if it will have a reaction with Geo or Anemo.
New Mechanics!
In the lands of Sumeru, knowledge is a resource and is a powerful one at that. The Akasha Terminal will be something new coming to Genshin Impact and we can’t wait to wield knowledge as a weapon.
While exploring Sumeru’s living forest, the players will need to make full use of their wits and the Dendro element to ease their navigation of the region. With mushrooms usable like trampolines and surely many more to discover, exploring Sumeru will be a breath of fresh air. The theme of vegetation isn’t all positive however as Sumeru will also show players the true meaning of wilting and decaying.

The mainline story of Sumeru is expected to conclude in 3.2 and we can’t wait to see the full bloom of the arc then. The Sumeru update will also bring with it two new artifact sets and brand new world bosses. What are you looking forward to the most in Sumeru?
